Niagara International Transportation Technology Coalition (NITTEC) is a coalition of agencies developed to help get you where you are going more safely and efficiently. NITTEC provides real-time traffic and roadway information right in the palm of your hands with the mobile application. 

Building the NITTEC Identity

Our first goal was to rebrand the organization, and we had to create a new logo, color palette, typographic system, stationery and marketing plan to launch. We began with an audit of their existing brand to help us better understand their customers, competition, surveys and SWOT analysis. After we understood the customer base in greater detail, the team felt confident to begin the identity process. Ultimately, our team's logo was chosen to depict the partnership between the NYS Department of Transportation and the Ministry of Transportation, Ontario. 

Mobile Application

My next task was to work on the development of a mobile application for NITTEC, which would present the information from their various databases into real-time tool for helping travelers navigate as efficiently as possible. When I began, I diverted my focus towards user experience first. Walking through each step over and over again to make sure that everything the user requires is easily accessible. This was my first project as a professional in creating a full user experience as well as the user interface. Once we were happy with the wireframes, and interface design, my mechanical files were handed off to the developers for implementation and testing.
